Blake Lively is Carol Ferris!

After a pretty lengthy search (not as lengthy as Hal, but almost as nerve-wracking) Hal Jordan has found his Carol Ferris. Blake Lively, currently starring in the CW show "Gossip Girl" has landed the part of Carol Ferris in the Green Lantern film.

Rumored to be up for the part were Eva Green, Keri Russell, Jennifer Garner, Diane Kruger and Blake Lively. Apparently the studio and director Martin Campbell were incredibly impressed with her auditions. Lively will play the on-again-off-again love interest of Hal Jordan.

Now that Campbell has locked down his leading man and leading lady, the casting process turns to Thaal Sinestro, the greatest Green Lantern and Hector Hammond, the sleazy scumbag who is mutated by an alien artifact and becomes one of Hal's first villains on Earth.
