Tomar, Abin and the 'Wog - Possible Leaked Concept Art -UPDATED
It's just been reported that this could possibly be the face of Kilowog in the Green Lantern film. It's unclear yet whether this art is in fact leaked concept art from the production or if it's fan generated. Either way it's top-quality and deserves recognition.
CosmicBookNews.com is reporting that the art is in fact authentic, but no official source from the film has confirmed this yet. More images have surfaced very quickly revealing possible concepts for Abin Sur, Tomar-Re and a full-body image of Kilowog.
If these are indeed legitimate works for the film, then it's clear they're taking this seriously and taking heavy inspiration from the comics. Tomar-Re in particular is an incredibly accurate rendition of the character as he appears in the comics. Other observations based on these images, we can glean that they've opted to go without the signature white gloves, but that they are using tight-fitting costumes and the classic Lantern symbol.
These designs are sure to garner much fan approval for the film, which is set to begin production in March. So far Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong are still in negotiations for the roles of Hector Hammond and Thaal Sinestro respectively.
UPDATE - More concept art for the Guardians of the Universe has been leaked. These Images of the Guardians, the little blue Oans seems to be holding fairly true to the comics, though their faces are a bit more aged and decrepit than their comic counterparts, but given that they are supposed to be as old as the universe itself, I think that's something I can live with. We've yet to hear who will be voicing the Guardians, but hopefully the voice will be authoritative enough to diminish their frail appearance.
As more concept art is leaked, the more we can be sure that this is official art from the production based on the similarities and quality of the work.
