Green Lantern 2 Lights Up & Flash Starts Moving

Hal Jordan & Barry Allen

Warner Brothers has hired writers for both the unannounced Green Lantern sequel and the oft-mentioned Flash feature film. Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim have all been brought back to pen the second installment of Green Lantern after having written the film currently in production. Warner Brothers seems impressed with both the writing and the current production to have green-lit a sequel script while the first film is still a year from release. This can only mean good things for Green Lantern fans.

The trio of writers has also been hired by Warner Bros. to write the script for the upcoming Flash movie, which will feature the Barry Allen incarnation of the character. Recently, Greg Berlanti was rumored to be in consideration to helm the Flash film, this news seems to give some creedence to that rumor. This is also a sign that there could be some crossover between the two characters on film since Hal Jordan and Barry Allen have historically been good friends in the DC Universe.

With a third Batman film in the works and a Superman reboot coming by way of Nolan's Man of Steel, Warner Brothers is primed to expose the massive DC Universe to moviegoers and the general public, starting next summer with Green Lantern
