James Newton Howard To Compose Green Lantern?

Finally, a name has been mentioned in the quest for a composer. IMDB has listed James Newton Howard as the composer for Green Lantern. This news should be taken with a huge grain of salt, primarily due to the nature of the IMDB listings, that they are user-submitted, and some rather false listings have appeared in the past for other films in development. No official studio statement has been made yet, as all has been quiet on the Warner Brothers front as WB and DC Entertainment prepare for next months San Diego Comic Con where they have promised that Green Lantern will "steal the show".
There may be some merit to the notion of James Newton Howard composing the score for Green Lantern, foremost is the fact that he's worked with director Martin Campbell before on the film Vertical Limit. Further adding to the legitimacy of this news is the fact that Howard was the co-composer of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, both films praised for the musical scores produced by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. Howard would be a welcomed addition to the already award-winning crew assembled for Green Lantern.
